Submission Guidelines

Dear Author!

Thank you for your interest in publishing with TiRuP.

While primarily an online publication, the editorial process from submission to publication does not differ from what you know from other (print) formats with the major advantage of rapid online publication of a citable article without having to wait for the print issue.

Additionally, all publications will be published yearly in print and will be indexed in the database RDB by Manz.

Submission

To submit a manuscript please send your manuscript via e-mail to:

Fees

TiRuP does not charge any fees. Authors do not have to pay any kind of publication fee.

Submission checklist

Before submitting your manuscript, please check the requirements listed below.

  • The article has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • The text meets the requirements listed in the guidelines.
  • The author agrees to publish his/her article under a CC BY 4.0 licence. At the same time the author grants exclusive right of first publication to TiRuP.

Papers that do not fulfil one or more of these requirements will not be accepted.

Publication process

Review

The editors decide on acceptance after having reviewed the content and form of the submitted manuscript. Check therefore the requirements and adhere to the guidelines listed on the next page.

  • The manuscript will be accepted, when all requirements are fulfilled.
  • The manuscript will be sent back for revision, when minor issues are discovered (e.g. wording, text too long, faulty citations or abbreviations).
  • The manuscript will be rejected, when major issues are discovered (e.g. not up to date, no scientific relevance, major legal deficits in argumentation, major language deficits, major deficits in the construction of the text, missing declaration of conflicts of interest).
A rejection is final. A revision of the manuscript is not intended in this case. To further scientific discussion, justifiable opinions other than those which have been held so far, are no cause for rejection.

After acceptance

Accepted manuscripts will undergo layout and copy-editing.

The authors are then asked to proof read. Please keep the corrections to a necessary minimum (like typos or mistakes that happened during layout) and do not add complete paragraphs or a large number of additional citations.
Please mark these corrections on a printout of the proof in a legible writing, scan it in and send it back either by postal service or e-mail with your approval for print clearly indicated ("imprimatur").
Please do not use the comment function in the Adobe Acrobat Reader or similar programs, as these cannot be printed out and makes further editing difficult.

Publication

After final proof the paper will be immediately published online.

At the end of year all papers published during that year will be printed in one volume by the publisher NWV under the title "Jahrbuch Tier- und Artenschutzrecht".

Copyright note

All papers are published under a CC BY 4.0 licence. The authors can sign agreements granting others the non-exclusive right to distribute the final published version of record (e.g. republish an article in a collective work), citing the original publication.
